about

Played all instruments, recorded, mixed and mastered at home.

This is my western approach to middle eastern music. The featured
banjo-like instrument is the cümbüs, given to me by my brother-in-law.
Pronounced “joomboosh”, the cümbüs is Turkish in origin, with the name
meaning fun, carousal or revelry. Yes, it was fun to record this collection of improvised tunes (with a barely a hint of structure to some of them).

Instruments used are various percussion including doumbek and djembe, as well as violin, hammered dulcimer, cumbus. Bowed guitar was used on “Old Man Winter Has The Last Word”.
