After releasing a full-length Ambient album in December 2019, veteran House Music producer Terry Vernixx set about to record a modern-styled Jazz/Rock ensemble project with some of his favorite local musicians back in his hometown of Fort Worth Texas. After several attempts at rounding out a reliable recording unit just before the onset of Covid19 in early 2020, he was soon joined in the venture by HERD OF INSTINCT progressive-rock guru Mark Cook. Working from their home studios during the pandemic, their emphasis was on creating modal textures, harmonious soloing, as well as slowly building improvisations on Terry’s original symphonic and rhymical ideas. North Texas musical polymath Darrin Kobetich joined in by Summer from his studio adding a variety of stringed instrumental overdubs to the record.

Originally inspired by the ECM recordings of Eberhard Weber, Ralph Towner, Steve Tibbetts, Steve Eliovson, and Nils Petter Molvær, the unit took Terry’s concepts to vastly different areas altogether, utilizing elements of Psychedelia as well as Krautrock serialism to the sonic vision. The recorded voices of friends and family were added during the mixing phase to give the song cycle an air of continuity.
